Restoration Technician

Summary: JAMS seeks to hire a Restoration Technician to assist with large-scale coral restoration efforts on Saipan, including land and ocean coral nursery maintenance, asexual and sexual coral propagation, outplanting, and monitoring. This is a field-intensive position that requires the ability to spend full days diving off of small boats in open ocean conditions, potentially in inclement weather. An ideal candidate will be passionate about environmental stewardship and coral reef conservation, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work well as part of a small, dynamic team. This is an entry level position with ample opportunity for on-the-job training and professional development. Restoration Research Associate

Summary: JAMS seeks to hire a Restoration Research Associate to assist with all aspects of large-scale coral restoration on Saipan, including nursery maintenance, asexual and sexual coral propagation, outplanting, monitoring, data management, analysis, and reporting. The Research Associate will collect and process imagery for photogrammetric analysis to support monitoring and research efforts. They will conduct research and assist in the development and implementation of innovative technologies and methodologies to improve the resilience of outplanted coral communities in the face of ongoing climate change. This is a field-intensive position that requires the ability to spend full days diving/snorkeling off of small boats in open ocean conditions, potentially in inclement weather. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission, an experience researcher dedicated to applied science, self-motivated, and have strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Coral Husbandry Specialist

Summary: In the coming year, JAMS will be building a land-based coral culturing facility on Saipan to support our research and restoration efforts. The facility will support sexual and asexual coral propagation and research focused on improving short and long-term restoration outcomes. We will also be implementing cutting edge technologies to spawn corals ex-situ and culture resultant larvae. We are seeking to hire a Coral Husbandry Specialist to help lead these efforts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission, self-motivated, experienced in the care and husbandry of reef-building corals, and experienced in the design, construction, and maintenance of large reef aquariums and recirculating seawater systems for aquaculture.
